    This is an absolutely lovely, melancholy Christmas album. Sam Phillips is an Artist with a capital A, and her music is a Treasure. Her entire back catalog is worth every second of your time: great indie, power pop, Americana, heart-melting harmonies—whatever—she's a unique musician and nobody else sounds like Sam Phillips.

    Mar Muerto is music to shout the stars out of the sky, and pull the moon into the sea. Gorgeous dark, post-punk melodies infused with the phantoms of Latin America. Their performance on Sesiones de Sofa (find it on their Youtube channel) is astonishingly beautiful and powerful. Man, so good!
