It really is different than most prior Jim stuff, and it may well be the best stuff he's ever done. Each song unfolds, taking it's time, like a butterfly emerging from a cocoon and letting its wings dry before it flies away. The feel is certainly in line with the After Hours (at the jazz club) title. The instrumentation is generous. Lush synth violins melding with nice bass work here, piano and synths intertwined there, and just-right reverb providing the necessary perspective everywhere. 10/10
