Being notorious and efamous and shit is all cool and fun and it's nice that it can pay out, but at the end of the day it's making music and doing shit and connecting with anyone or feeling anything that makes it worthwhile. Fuck being relevant--I'd rather be satisfied.
After years of fading hope that this album was actually going to happen, I'm fucking ecstatic to finally be listening to it! The Chapter One tracks I'm well acquainted with, but the Chapter Two tracks are surprisingly varied and fresh for CTTS. Light post-rock influenced tunes, floaty in a good way, almost resembling BGM, but the kind of BGM that would make a scene really memorable and stand-out. Which I guess is how post-rock got its mainstream acclaim in the first place, so good job!
Aiming for doom metal, and possibly striking prog-metal along the way, The Faceless Mask makes me think of bands like Isis with its sensation of washing over and crushing under the pressure. A very worthwhile first endeavor.
