Silly me put off buying this for a while, because, you know, I already had a few of the tracks on the best of album. After the first listen, I was regretting that. The superb Man e Marg is worth the price of admission alone, and I could probably say the say the same for a few other tracks.
  6. Mutation
    by Les Frères Smith OFFICIEL
    Genuinely superb!
As a long time afrobeat fan, I loved the first Les Freres Smith album, as it was full of quality afrobeat workouts. I loved their second album even more, because while it was it faithful to the brass and percussion assault of Fela, it incorporated other stylistic influences.
For much the same reason, I love this even more. While still retaining the power and complexity of afrobeat, the stylistic canvas is broader: highlife, funk & jazz. And overall very, very danceable.
