A wonderful discovery. This guy knows how to write a delicate, sophisticated and complex pop song. He's in line with great ones like Bid (Monochrome Set) Jonathan Richman and Ray Davies. And the arrangements are splendid, simple and unexpected (who would believe I would hear a solo of moog and like it in 2017?). Don't hesitate and buy it (there's a bonus track).

leaning on a wheel leaning on a wheel
It's dubious there'll be a better album this year. Much better than the previous one, it's a masterpiece full of contrasted ambiances that grip you and make you fly real high. Noise has never been more melodic.
  5. Banishing Ritual
    by FEATURE
    00:00/00:00
    Fresh Pillow Fresh Pillow
A superb album with a lot of various influences such as Sonic Youth, the Slits, the Fall, the Ramones and even the Gogo's but I forget many others. Every song is a success and could be a hit if times were different.
  6. When Are You Going To Give Up On Me So I Can Give Up On Myself
by Jackson Reid Briggs and The Heaters
    00:00/00:00
    Monday Morning Monday Morning
Surely one of the best punk albums released since this movement appeared. There's an urgency, a necessity that lack to so many bands today that it's impossible not to get this gem. Monday morning is an anthem for every beginning of a working week.

This is a true gem with songs Ray Davies would love to write these days. Some should be standards, would we live in a world where to have taste still meant something. Strongly emotional this will be the music of spring for many as it is for me.

I believed sludge doom had nothing new to invent anymore and I was wrong. This band shows that there's a lot still to create in this genre. Take a trip with them. It's a fantastic and rich travel you'll make, although quite dark and thrilling. Did a review (in French) here.http://brazil3point0.com/mag/2016/10/la-selection-bandcamp-de-dk-6/

    Don't Race Don't Race
Imagine the best of the UK working class rock all gathered in one band and you got The Peep Tempel. Traces of Third World War, The Fall, Dead Kennedys, Captain Beefheart and so much more for, without a doubt, one of the most extraordinary and energising record of the year. Became one of my favorite band immediately. Don't miss them.

One of the best noise band around without any hesitation. If you're in Jesus Lizard or Drive Like Jehu this band is for you. Even stronger. Did a review (in French) here. brazil3point0.com/mag/2016/10/la-selection-bandcamp-de-dk-6/

  26. Shit Love 7"
    by Whipper
    00:00/00:00
    Shit Love Shit Love
Because it is punk rock as I loved it in the late 70's and it is not far as good as the Saints. Became one of my fave band at their first 7". Rare. Wrote some words (in French) about it here brazil3point0.com/mag/2016/05/la-selection-bandcamp-de-dk-3/ - edit
  27. Have A Go EP
    by Regular Boys
    00:00/00:00
    Bad Behaviour Bad Behaviour
Because I love the Saints, the Church and the Only Ones and that this band provides in 2016 the same thrilling than they offered us so many years ago.

  29. Harry Cloud's After School Special
    by HARRY CLOUD

    Balloons Balloons
Because Harry Cloud is a sort of genius and this album a sort of masterpiece. Remove "sort of". Actually they are. Wrote some words (in French) about it here brazil3point0.com/mag/2016/05/la-selection-bandcamp-de-dk-3/ - edit
  30. I'm Into What You're Into
    by Paul Jacobs
    00:00/00:00
I'm Into What You're Into I'm Into What You're Into
Because we need weirdos like this guy, doing great chaotic but enjoyable music. Wrote some words (in French) about it here brazil3point0.com/mag/2016/04/la-selection-bandcamp-de-dk-2/
  31. The Light
    by Soft Fangs
    00:00/00:00
    Dragon Soap Dragon Soap
Because there's few albums so intimist and touching and melodic at the same time. It's a difficult mixture. Many attempt, few succeed. John Lutkovich does. You can't stop listening to this album once you felt it deep inside you. Wrote some words (in French) about it here brazil3point0.com/mag/2016/04/la-selection-bandcamp-de-dk-2/ - edit

    Dreamconfusion Dreamconfusion
This is no less than a masterpiece full of gems, pop standards and instant loveable songs. Those who think that the Go-Between and the Church were rock milestones will find a third companion here. Sure this will be on my Top 10 of 2016.

Standing On Bedlam, Burning In Bliss Standing On Bedlam, Burning In Bliss
One of my 3 top LPs of 2015. All the best that Autopsy was in the early 90s with much more complexity and stratifications. The drumming is extraordinary. Demoniac, monstruous sound.

Same pleasure here than in the early Colin Newman solo LPs. Incredibly strong climatic album. The best this year for running on.

    Charma Charma
Did a review (in French) here brazil3point0.com/mag/2015/10/le-disque-du-jour-sahara-surfers-cd/. Great album, really great, stoner as you'll like to listen to much more often. And Julia Überbacher is like a Mariska Veres and Barbara Keith going stoner.
