  1. Artiphon
    by Parallel Worlds
People usually mention the sputtering glitchy and detailed rhythms that are a distinctive part of the Parallel Worlds sound. For me its usually the dark melodies which twist and turn throughout his best tracks. Its not so easy to combine dark and melodic but Parallel Worlds do it better than most.
  2. Behind the Dark Sky
    by Karl Schoenberg
It is incomprehensible to me why Karl's music is not a lot more widely appreciated. He has a level of musical sophistication which is beyond a lot of what I hear. Yet it is never clever for its own sake - always atmospheric, spacious and full of beautiful sounds and expressive playing. Give it a chance and you will be rewarded.
  3. Fragmented (DiN83)
    by Parallel Worlds
Parallel Worlds on good form. It starts with an oscillating drone which lulls you into a false sense of (in)security before going off in more rhythmic directions. A step forward in the sound world from this original artist.
  4. Chromatic Lightning Cage (DiN84)
    by Dave Bessell

  10. Into the Abyss
    by Karl Schoenberg
    Spiritueux Spiritueux
If you are in the mood for some sophisticated ambient electronica then try this. Atmospheric with a mystical and yearning flavour. For a relatively young artist this is impressive. Each track has something to offer.
  11. MICROEVENTS
    by Ulises Labaronnie
Non Linear Studies Non Linear Studies
Sophisticated ambient with nicely integrated natural sounds. It rewards patience as it slowly unveils a lot of nice detail.
  12. Ultraferal
    by Stoniam
Great vocals, ably supported by some inventive songwriting. Worth checking out.
  13. How Do You Live
    by Amon Tobin
Above all this is truly inventive in a way that very little current electronic music is.
  14. The Afrorack
    by Afrorack
  15. Reflections
    by Parallel Worlds
Quite a varied release - from ambient drone to more rhythmic tracks full of electronic details. The more rhythmic tracks vary in mood from light almost pastoral to dark bordering on the industrial occasionally. A distinctive voice that will repay detailed listening.

  19. Plector (DiN76)
    by Parallel Worlds
A unique and quite varied album with the hallmarks we have come to expect from Parallel Worlds. Skittering mechanical percussion, creative sound design, dark melodies and atmospheres all make their appearance on different tracks. Favourite track Dark Machinery.
  20. SINNER GET READY
    by LINGUA IGNOTA
Emotionally raw, musically sophisticated, sonically inventive. Right up my street.
