Henry Purcell's 'Funeral Music For Queen Mary' is just about my favourite piece of music, so it was a real surprise and pleasure to find it so incredibly interpreted on this album's 'Butcher Of The World'. Rather as Gloria Coates manages to make 'Dido's Lament' even more harrowing in her 4th Symphony, this track wrenches and amplifies the abject grief of the original. This is not mucking around. This is gut-wrenching art.
