this album is everything i'd hoped it would be! i had only heard the single before receiving the cassette today. all the elements that made me fall under her spell on previous releases are present here as well. sleepy instrumentals, some songs sung in french, jazzy-drums, free-jazz inspired reed work. a spicy gumbo for sure! one of the greatest living artists in music today! and the personal thank you note with the cassette was a nice touch!
