Because this was recorded Live it really adds something to each of the songs, one of my favourite being Funny Valentine which is so soulful and shows off Clare's wonderful vocals SO beautifully. This is what Live music is all about and Clare does it SO well.
First heard this on Clare's other latest CD "They Say It's Swing" and loved it from that first moment. Just love the vibe, the arrangements and of course Clare's vocals are always amazing, especially when recorded LIVE as it adds to the performance!!
You can't go wrong with Peggy Lee OR Clare, so this album is the perfect combination. A superb compilation of Peggy Classics which Clare makes her own. Songs included are the amazing Folks Who Live On The Hill and It Might As Well Be Spring as well as new track It's A Good Day which is really superb too.
Another sensational album from Clare Teal which I'd wanted to hear for ages and it didn't disappoint in the slightest. The fact that it's just Clare, Grant and Pee Wee gives it an even more intimate and organic feel and the arrangements are amazing. Particularly loved "I Feel Good" which is just superb!!
Wow!! You can't beat a live Orchestra and Singers and when it's Clare Teal and The Halle it's sheer perfection!! Every track is a winner and the arrangements are superb. I've always loved Clare singing Doris Day and this version of "Secret Love" is simply stunning!! Congratulations Clare and The Halle.
