This record feels like a warm embrace on the edge of the apocalypse. Brilliant end-to-end, & "Simone" alone is a song-of-the-year contender. Music has always felt like a lifelong companion to me, this record hits deeper than almost anything I've heard. Heavy themes tinged w/ just the right amount of hope for a better tomorrow. "Broken Brain" probably best exemplifies this. It's relatable w/o falling into commiseration. Danceable sad songs that rival Magnetic Fields. Easily my fav 2021 record <3.
