I wasn't sure what to expect from this. Pointless nostalgia? A sad reminder of better days? But as soon as Kristen Hersh's voice drops, it's clear this band is doing exactly what it wants, and you can get on board or get the fuck out the way. What a fantastic record. A truly unique sound and no time to wallow in the past. Five stars.
