  1. Black Sun
    by Tyrannus
    00:00/00:00
    Eternal Suffering Eternal Suffering
I love this album. It might be my favorite album of the year. It is and is not Dungeon Synth simultaneously. It is noisy. It is raw. In atmosphere, and in other significant aspects, this is an emotive and cutting-edge experience not to be missed. 10/10

  3. From a Deeper Grave
    by Deathbard
    00:00/00:00
The Castle Below the Castle The Castle Below the Castle
Deathbard's finest work. This album tells a story in the truest sense, and does so with enrapturing musical intrigue. I feel like a lot of people overlook this one, and Deathbard's work in general, and that is a crying shame, for this album is a must-listen in modern Dungeon Synth music.
  4. The Way of a Pilgrim
    by Digre
    00:00/00:00
The Way of a Pilgrim - 5 / Feast of the Annunciation The Way of a Pilgrim - 5 / Feast of the Annunciation
No complaints at all. Liturgical 8-bit Dungeon Synth is just as awesome as it sounds. Highly recommended. 10/10
  5. The Tyrant's Tower
    by Einhorn
    00:00/00:00
Ancient Masonry pt. I-III Ancient Masonry pt. I-III
For those looking for an easy listen, I'd suggest you go elsewhere. This album is very dark. It's grim and gritty and atmospherically dense. It's complex and complicated. It needs to be engaged with by those who can appreciate the harsh aesthetics that this release so perfectly conjures. For those willing to properly engage with this album, it is nearly perfect. 10/10
  6. Uther
    by Pendragon
    00:00/00:00
    Uther's Lust Uther's Lust
This album is nothing short of awe-inspiring. The compositions are winding and engaging, the atmosphere is varied and immersive, and the overall arrangement is impeccable. A must-listen, whether you are interested in Arthurian legend or not. A top Dungeon Synth album of the year, for sure!
  7. Ravenloft - The Unofficial Soundtrack
    by Synth Bard
    00:00/00:00
    K10 - The Dining Room (Strahd's Theme) K10 - The Dining Room (Strahd's Theme)
An epic labor of love that is accurate and impassioned. The music takes you right to Ravenloft without even having to play the module.
  8. Roman Master
    by Roman Master
    00:00/00:00
I DIED BECAUSE I WAS WEAK I DIED BECAUSE I WAS WEAK
A dark and demented masterpiece, pushing the envelope of what we expect from Dungeon Synth artists. This is easily one of my overall favorites from this year. 10/10.
  9. The Tales Of The Silent Castle
    by Morannon
    00:00/00:00
    Deep Fog Deep Fog
Completely floored by this release. The atmosphere achieved here is just as good as any of the hallmark classics of the genre. Chilling, immersive, and utterly stunning. Don't miss out on this one.

A true work of art! Verminaard has managed to create one of the truly must-have Dungeon Synth essentials!

Death of a Warrior Death of a Warrior
It is clear that the artist went through great lengths to conjure a very particular atmosphere, and in my opinion, they did so successfully. The album oozes with mystical and magical sounds and textures all within a fairly simple package. It makes for truly wonderful and nostalgic listening.

Melancholic, haunting, and meditative. An extremely textural and hypnotic release that one can easily get lost in for hours at a time! A triumph!

Love this album. Listening to this album has definitely inspired my own music for future Chaucerian Myth albums! A truly remarkable work that takes the listener through a deeply personal journey.
