  3. Second Tomorrow (2024)
    by No Lake
    Gray Gray
Otherworldly soundscapes - new vistas from the more melodic edges of ambient that No Lake has helped us explore before in his unmistakable style. If you are interested in instrumental synthesizer music at all you must get yourself acquainted with this artist. In his work, various electronic styles collide in ways that you won't find elsewhere: techno and ambient, the Berlin school, hints of synthwave and strong reverberations of dungeon synth. Not off-the-shelf, but beautiful and relevant.
  4. Till Then

A beautiful and poignant song about loss.

Desire for Freedom Does Not Beget Freedom from Desire Desire for Freedom Does Not Beget Freedom from Desire
A strange, antiaerodynamic contraption plunges through a tunnel of swirling lights eagerly seeking the unknown. The cover art perfectly matches the opening track that suggests an eager and optimistic disposition towards the coming adventure. Soon, however, we understand that this is as much a voyage of inner exploration as of outward discovery. The album covers a lot of ground, from the uplifting majesty Worlds Rise and Fall within Us to the between highly melodic, optimistic tracks like
  11. Cybertherial
    by Jonny Fallout
  12. Escape from Ultra City (EP)
    by Jonny Fallout
  13. Slow Burn
    by Jonny Fallout
A tender, restrained, incredibly atmospheric song. Every little piece falls into place to form an intense feeling of loving tension. Wonderful - a synthwave masterpiece.
  14. The Interstellar Void
    by Markus Grandpré
Beautiful atmospheres and stories, carefully and lovingly crafted by a skilled and sensitive synthesist. We cannot help being reminded of Jean Michel Jarre's Oxygene but the delicate beauty of these pieces is all their own.
  15. Esoteric Propaganda
    by Obsidian Contraption
    Sabbath Sabbath
Obsidian Contraption produce some of the most disturbingly otherworldly music out there. REALLY out there. At the meeting point between synthwave, hip hop, and heavy metal, their highly experimental electronic music challenges you to keep listening in horror and fascination. Black Sabbath, with its urgent increpations, metallic synths, and relentless beat, followed by the almost naive nursing song that is Mystical Droos of Pixeldew, form a beautiful doublet that, to me, encapsulates this work.
  16. GALAXY EXPRESS
    by the AUXOUT
For some time I've been an admirer of Auxout's polished dual-Crave peeformances on Youtube. This is one of my favourites, it has a great groove.
  17. Urban Dreams
    by Kebu
    Hope Hope
There is so much good in this album, so many stories... It takes me to a past from whence I glimpse a future of hope. Hope is indeed my favourite track though it was hard to chose - so many contenders including the uplifting Free from Pain, Super Troopers (a whole imaginary movie rolls before my eyes when I listen to it!), the melancholy Distant Shores, Saved by McGyver... Ultimately, the slow, but finally soaring emotional crescendo that is Hope is hard to match - on this album or elsehwere.

    Outside Outside
This is a haunting album which conjures vast, beautiful, sad landscapes and puts my hair on end. It's as lyrical as many of the best pieces in the romantic symphonic tradition. A masterpiece.
