Somehow this slipped under my radar when it came out. Describing such a cathartic, important, and unique release in mere words feels wholly inadequate, but I’ll try anyway: it’s vengeful, sorrowful, haunting, simultaneously beautiful and ugly, full of weakness and strength, suffering and triumph—and I haven’t even addressed her voice. This album will rip you to shreds, rebuild you piece by piece, and maybe make you a better person if you *listen*. Just buy it. In fact, buy everything she makes.
