  1. Thunderheart
    by Greyhawk
    Thunderheart Thunderheart
Greyhawk are definitely one of the bands that consistently deliver. Perhaps I'm a bit biased considering they're a "local" band to me, but what can I say? Great musicianship from Darren Wall's great bass playing to Rev Taylor's classical training as well as Jesse Berlin's guitar work and Nate Butler's drumming. A fantastic sophomore effort by these heavy hitters in the NWOTHM scene. While I'm torn between the title track and "Ombria", I think "Thunderheart" wins out for me as a standout track.
  2. THE ARMOR OF IRE
    by Eternal Champion
I Am The Hammer I Am The Hammer
A must have for fans of traditional heavy metal. A headbanging, old school sound with fantastical lyrics bordering on the realm of power metal. Been listening to this almost every day because it's so damn good! 🤘🏼
  3. RAVENING IRON
    by Eternal Champion
A Face in the Glare A Face in the Glare
Eternal Champion has done it again with another certified banger in the NWOTHM!!!
  4. Traveler
    by Traveler
    Speed Queen Speed Queen
As others have said here, a definite staple in the NWOTHM movement. It has a raw sound that is reminiscent of the era while being a solid banger for a debut album.
  5. Termination Shock
    by Traveler
  6. Prequel To Madness
    by Traveler
Take The Wheel Take The Wheel
Finally decided to jump in and give these guys a listen after seeing them pop up in my recommendations. Definitely not disappointed with my purchase. It hits all the right notes for that traditional feel and keeps you hooked.
  7. The Mad King
    by Warrior Path
The Mad King The Mad King
What is there to say that hasn't already been said about this album? A bombastic blend of NWOTHM with just the right touch of power metal. While Avenger's a damn solid song, the title track is an absolute killer!
  8. This Heathen Land
    by GREEN LUNG
The Forest Church The Forest Church
I heard of these guys after an acquaintance picked up their vinyl and gave it a spin. "The Forest Church" had me hooked immediately.
  9. Treacherous Ways
    by Helms Deep
Fight or Flight Fight or Flight
A fantastic find via NWOTHM recommendations. Powerful old school metal that keeps you hooked. Was surprised and excited to see two-thirds of Raven was involved in this project. Another banger to add to my growing colleciton.
  10. Annihilation for Esoteric Nascency
    by Celestial Annihilator
Eternal Flames of Doom Eternal Flames of Doom
Stumbled across this album on pure chance whilst browsing suggested artists. For a largely one-man act, this is impressive and a blast. It hits all the right spots in being both atmospheric and powerful. Here's hoping for more! 🤘🏼
  11. Power Dive
    by Acid Blade
Hot Bloods on the Loose Hot Bloods on the Loose
I'm glad to have discovered these guys rifling through my list of recommendations.
  12. Times of Obscene Evil and Wild Daring
    by Smoulder
The Sword Woman The Sword Woman
I was recommended to give these guys a listen from my brother. I must say I'm not disappointed in the least! A heavy presence of sound a la the Dio era of Black Sabbath and reminiscent of the Marcolin era of Candlemass. Looking forward to the next album!
  13. Violent Creed Of Vengeance
    by Smoulder
Victims of Fate Victims of Fate
A great follow up to the awesomeness of the debut album. The production is a bit iffy, but it definitely doesn't take away from the heavy riffs and speed throughout. Here's looking forward for great things to come from this band!
  14. Blackbraid I
    by Blackbraid
    Sacandaga Sacandaga
I've never been much a fan of Black Metal, but after hearing about Blackbraid, I decided to give it a listen. The production and the atmosphere makes it easy to digest, the music evoking something that is rather omnipresent yet ancient. I look forward to seeing what Sgah’gahsowáh has in store with the new album
  15. Blackbraid II
    by Blackbraid
Twilight Hymn of Ancient Blood Twilight Hymn of Ancient Blood
An absolute masterpiece of a follow-up to the first album.
  16. Remnants of the Vessel
    by Faetooth
    Echolalia Echolalia
I stumbled upon these folks after receiving an e-mail about their show in Seattle and decided to give them a listen. Wasn't disappointed in the least. Looking forward to what they have in store and for them to come back around to the Seattle area again \m/
  17. Hypnotized
    by Midnight Dice
    Starblind Starblind
A definite must for folks looking to add to their NWOTHM collections!

State Of Shock State Of Shock
  19. Time Immortal Wept
    by Legendry
  20. Beyond Raging Thunder
    by Mustang
    Terror Striker Terror Striker
For a passion project, this is a great first start. The vocals are a hair distracting but it does add to the "charm" of that old school sound. Looking forward to what these guys have in store for future projects
