Take The Fall Take The Fall
Thunderous, captivating Brisbane psych rockers. Get on board this one! To release an album in these times is a minor miracle.

    by Mogwai
To The Bin My Friend, Tonight We Vacate Earth To The Bin My Friend, Tonight We Vacate Earth
The gold standard by which all hi fi systems should be tested. Majestic, soaring stuff. Excellent work by Dave Fridmann. A miracle of creation in these COVID times.

Don't Believe The Fife (Live) Don't Believe The Fife (Live)
This recording really hits the sweet spot. Mogwai are always consummate masters of live recordings, and this release is no exception. So much flow and feeling. Like a carefully thought out compilation tape. A real art.

    Low Resolution Low Resolution
Thank you for your music, Kelley. It fills me with such joy. This one is very Stiff Records, which is a good thing indeed. Perfect soundtrack for my Saturday nights. Choosing my fave track is like choosing between your fave children. I vote 'Low Resolution' because of the Iggy vibes. And Iggy is a good thing, doll face.

  10. Live at Newtown Social Club
    by Black Cab
Combat Boots (live in Sydney) Combat Boots (live in Sydney)
This recording is a thumping piece of A-grade electronica from the mighty Black Cab. The version of Joy Division's 'Isolation' isn't too shabby either. Black Cab do enough to claim it as their own.
  11. Call Signs
    by Black Cab
    Rescue Rescue
My fave album from 2010. I always get goosebumps listening to Call Signs. I challenge you all to submit to its transcendent pleasure. You won't regret it.

Baby Blue (Live) Baby Blue (Live)
Love the interplay between metal and shoegaze. Deafheaven a powerful force to be reckoned with. A great recording. I am going deaf but I am definitely in heaven!

    Wander Wander
A bit of Leonard Cohen, a bit of Dylan, totally Kevin Morby. This is a special album indeed.
  19. By The Fire
    by Thurston Moore
    Locomotives Locomotives
Usually I am scathing of anything resembling a double album, but I was totally enthralled in spite of (despite?) By The Fire's 90min or so length. Unhurried guitar music that made me reach for Television as a reference point. To me it sounds like Thurston identifies himself with the guitar more than the voice on this release. I think it brings great peace and creative bliss. All power to him and the crew that support him on these tracks. The sounds enchant, add drama.
