This album is tightly constructed, eschewing anything extraneous. The end result is a taut, honed ball of rage and anguish. There is nothing accessible about this album, and it's brutal as anything. Indian are a force of nature. Too many doom bands seem to want to be sexy or theatrical in some way. Indian is something altogether different, closer to Khanate in a sense, but more suicidal than homicidal. Indian occupies a special place in my heart.
