This is just magnificent and so different from anything else coming out of London right now. The instrumentation is so fresh and dynamic, with flute, violin and harp in the mix, plus those ethereal voices. The overall effect is astonishing. I saw Saskia and James with the hugely impressive Nihilism at Jazz Cafe in January and it's still one of my best gigs of 2019 (60 gigs later). I would love to see this band - get a tour organised guys; your music is just sublime.

Wow. Bugge's work on Lugubrious Youth just conjures the spirit of Esbjorn so tangibly that I am a wreck every time I listen. But, while I still feel incredibly raw and angry about his death over 11 years ago, there is a sense of peace and even resolution to be found in this beautiful music - I hope it's the same for Magnus and Dan. Saw them in Manchester on this tour and so delighted to have this document.

Loving this - of all the 8 tracks released so far, I think this is my favourite. Each track is pretty different from the next. This one has a ska-jazz groove going on and I love the vocals, plus, as usual, there's some lovely solo work, great interplay, and tight ensemble playing.

I've got pretty much all of Malcolm's music, and this is another fine release. There's a wide variety of styles on here, from Indie dance beats, to folky piano riffs, to 70s prog-style synths, to what sounds like Vini Reilly-inspired guitar. As ever, what stands out is Malcolm's gift for melody - can anyone write a better tune? It's just beautiful. Heartbreaking, joyous, and a gamut of emotions in-between.
