I don't need to say why, do I?

After listening (and experiencing) this album I have a hankering to start a band named Jest Pholkes! Really I do...

Just a great way to end a set. Everyone is just in "full steam ahead" mode....but really listening and feeling it in the moment...almost spooky!

Must have been a long hard snow that day, I feel claustrophobic just listening....not being critical mind you. Just an impression...now here's my John Wayne...

The whole live set is like two dancers....anticipating, breathing, falling into step, but also surprising at a turn of the wrist, or of the heel....jealous I am...
  18. Enter the PlusTet
    by Taylor Ho Bynum
    featured track 00:00/00:00
Three (for Me We & Them) Three (for Me We & Them)
Nobody, giant or otherwise could sleep through that opening section!...I liken it to the struggle for life...working/striving for balance in a musical/ecological domain... (what?) oh, its groovy too!
  19. Away With You
    by Mary Halvorson
    featured track 00:00/00:00
Spirit Splitter (no. 54) Spirit Splitter (no. 54)
First impressions....I hear great new sonic places for MH. Opening track's momentum is charging forth and picks up steam around 3 min mark, but just before the 4 min mark we get some great free form blowing which slows to a short interlude teasing us with a taste of how Ms. Alcorn and MH will be sharing duties on their strings just prior to short recap and then an unexpected coda with a falling musical question of what is to come? Wonderful range of forms, frivolity and flights of fancy.....

It is going to take some time to Grok all this! Compelling..I would love to be a fly on the wall for rehearsals (or maybe more precisely...training) of some of Mr. Braxton's systems. Perhaps no.377 just grabs me the most
