  1. Live At Mosebacke
    by Jenny Bohman
This is such an excellent album. Jenny Bohman was seriously ill by the time this was recorded and this was effectively a legacy concert - friends in the band; friends and fans in the audience. It is intimate, joyous, expansive and a celebration of her talent through some of her best work. It is joyous.
  2. Reunions: Live At Brooklyn Bowl Nashville
by Jason Isbell & Amanda Shires
  3. The Wake
    by Lindsay Fuller
Some artists deserve to be more popular, appreciated and well known than they are. Lindsay Fuller is one of those. Haunting and accomplished, both lyrically and musically. Give this, her third album, a listen. It's good.
  4. THE TANGO BAR
    by GREG COPELAND
What an unexpected gem. Virtually anonymous, reclusive, elderly artist creates surprise gem. This is quality from first to last - subtle, intelligent and delightful listening. Try it.
  5. Pigeon And The Crow
    by Nels Andrews
  6. Live in Seattle, Just Before The Global Pandemic
    by Goodnight, Texas
  7. Live at The Bomhard
    by Joan Shelley
  8. Dirty South Blues
    by Robert Connely Farr
  9. The Shack
    by Shea Seger
Shea Seger is/was a hugely talented artist who virtually disappeared from performance and public life. "The May Street Project" (2000) was a massively well received breakthrough album and "Shea Seger" (2010) was perhaps even better, although it came out of nowhere - but that's about it! Radio silence. This archive album is therefore well worth downloading, and it is very good, too.

Do Right Woman, Do Right Man Do Right Woman, Do Right Man
Many years ago, browsing in Amoeba record store, I discovered 'Postcards From Downtown', an early Dayna Kurtz album, and bought it on spec. I've been hooked ever since. Seen her live twice in New Orleans (I live in the UK) and love all her albums and incarnations. So, yes, that's a recommendation!
  11. Like Light On Water
    by Johnny Miles
  12. Elephant Heart
    by Elizabeth Gundersen
  13. The Morehouse Barbers Sessions
    by The Harmed Brothers
  14. The Contenders Live from Nashville 6.1.2015

  15. The sordid details of a distant past
    by The D.B. Walker Band
  16. ever had that feeling
    by Andra
A combination of great voice and writing - combined with a talent for improvisation. Really emotive music. Listen and you're hooked!
  17. Live at Soulshine
by Reed Turchi & His Kudzu Orkestra, Featuring Art Edmaiston
  18. Song In Me
    by Jessica Rhaye
  19. Quarter Life
    by Maggie Koerner
This is a great discovery. Just listen to the featured track. You will be hooked!
  20. From Birth, to Breath, to Bone
    by Gretchen Pleuss
    Ceremony (Speak) Ceremony (Speak)
Not sure that this is the best of her releases, but it's not far off - which makes it very good indeed. A musician with integrity and intelligence - and a great voice, too.
