Gales Of Winter Gales Of Winter
Legends of Human Spirit reminds me of the DragonForce that we lost after ZP left the band.

I can't give it much higher praise than that.

  9. Infinite Power

  10. Coma Wall (E.P.)
    by Mesarthim
    Mesarthim always surprises me.

I'm impressed at how they manage to make music that sounds fresh while still sounding unmistakably like them; fast but melodious, grand and simultaneously compact, a journey across the universe that's both lonely and lively. I was hoping for a follow up to Type III and The Great Filter's marathon dives into the cosmos, and they delivered in spades.

Mesarthim have solidified themselves as my #1 band - awesome theme, perfect length and amazing consistency. Buy it.

*Googles 'Left Horn of the Ram'*

    ...yep. Should've known.

What an amazing easter egg. The only Mesarthim release older than this proper is Isolate. They even reference THEMSELVES in Absence. This was sitting here for two years and nobody found it until the obvious hint got dropped. And it somehow still manages to sound like it came right off of The Density Parameter. My mind is blown.

    Album's pretty good too.

  13. The Density Parameter

    Fragmenting Fragmenting
Another hit from Mesarthim. 74% is a bit off the mark of the album's tone, but the rest is awesome - just different enough to be new, but full on Mesarthim nonetheless. Replaces .- -... ... . -. -.-. . as the best full album they've done to date.

PS: DECODE THAT MORSE CODE IN FRAGMENTING!
  14. The Xun Protectorate

Lost in Darkness Lost in Darkness
I could leave a long, rambling review about how I love the instrumentation, the lyrical almost-grumbling-but-different-enough-to-be-tolerable, or what have you, but it would be easier to say that THIS ALBUM KICKS MY ARSE AND I LOVE IT TO DEATH.
  16. Revolution Part I (EP)
    by Immortal Guardian
Beyond The Skies Beyond The Skies
Beyond the Skies is such a ridiculously good power metal song that I'd buy this album three times over, just for that song.
  17. Demons
    by Bloodshot Dawn
    Consequence Complex Consequence Complex
Demons is the album that convinced me to give anything harder than DragonForce an actual chance. That is amazing, in my book.
