Along the Wizards Path Along the Wizards Path
“In Fetid Fields,” to talk to just one of the songs, proves just as much a splendor as the previous two tracks, effectively continuing the established Gothic mood, though branching out with a little bit of jaunty "Lord of the Rings"-like piping at 0:34, and especially at 0:50, only to turn … grimmer at 1:39. And then we get the great drum fill leading us into 2:10, where we’re firmly back in the heart of classic Grim Father.

Bastards at Arms Bastards at Arms
Of the three albums, "Observer" is probably the one I listen to the most--and that's saying something! Flowing from track-to-track with a smoothness the other two don't (not saying such a design is superior), this album is my go-to for spooky reading.

I could write more, but I'm just too hungry for another session of it accompanying "Dracula."

The Dead End Hymnal The Dead End Hymnal
Should your Gothic video game presently provide less than adequate Gothic tunes, kill the music (though leave the sound), and pump this instead, just as I did with the end of "Dark Devotion."

"The Dead End Hymnal" is not just my favorite track here, but also one of my favorite songs, period. Jocund yet meditative. And just downright fun.
  8. No Way Out

    Poison Land Poison Land
Had this album been around back then, "Poison Land" would have found a wonderful home in an episode of "Buffy," especially in one of its first season, rightfully claiming its immortality as one of the great "Buffy bands."

    Grunge-y.
    Crunchy.
And firmly 90s in its unapologetic grit.
