this is some of the most powerful, disarming, ego-shattering music ive ever heard, and thats even before ive had time to really take in the lyrics. its like its actively trying to undo you from beneath, like a spiritual artifact of some sort. i think it will reward repeat listens, in the same way that meditation rewards repeated practice, if that makes sense

Cannot remotely do it justice in words. Buy it, take a deep breath - like, a real deep breath - and press play.

Reminds me of why I fell in love with that 80s/90s alt rock sound. Melodies are on point, hooks are plentiful and the guitars are warm and nicely distorted. All is as should be. There is even a hint of The doors in Born stoned. Early GBV and REM fans, this is our jam ✌

    Sister Sister
Nice powerful piano jams (+ a few pointless found sound tracks?)
Focus is more on rhythm than melody & most tracks are built around almost-atonal but not dissonant right-hand improvs over steady 2-3 note figures held by the left hand, with a monolithic feel. Think of the piano fugues from tense scenes in old cartoons. Lots of variations and nuances though, so it's more varied than that. Title track sounds like Jandek right from the start, Sister is the sweet melodic number. Very enjoyable.

Decent album. As with their animation, you can tell Brian and popcorn's styles apart: B -> atonal, abstract, empty-valleys-in-space pieces; P -> upbeat poppy stuff.

Music was apparently written to match the videos (see Killscreen interview) & doesnt work as well on its own. The opposite was true for Skylark, which is indeed a better song.

Also, B's solo stuff was way better imho, both music and video; P kinda dilutes the feeling: C3DW entertains, B made you feel things, hence a "meh" album.
