    Final Eclipse Final Eclipse
Psychedelic tribal riddim. A giddy euphoric hedonism, fitting for the end of the world. Amazing tracks on a fantastic EP. Luckily I managed to get hold of a Comet Fire Orange vinyl RSD17 copy and its delicious. The press surrounding the band is refreshingly true and accurate. As the reviews have been saying, this is indeed a compound catastrophic that works on many levels. Deep warehouse house meeting acidic beatnik, Miles on a mitsubishi, Sun ra-esque prog jazz funk fusion. WOOP!

Vibrational psychology, underwater love, alt-synth symphonies. like a sedated Neon Indian or Future Islands, tranquilliser psychedelia stimulates the visual cortex. Love this band..

  5. Tracy Bryant - "Parachute"/"Protect Your Head" lim. clear 7"
    by Tracy Bryant
    featured track 00:00/00:00
    Parachute Parachute
Subterranean out on Burger is a great album, the limited 7" on La Suisse Primitive is sublime and this limited exclusive on Volar follows in the same vein. Great vocal, great guitars, great percussion, simple yet expertly crafted indie. I love how the band create energy in their sound, akin to the late 80's early 90's Manchester post punk synthwave industrial scene thats a sound experiencing a welcome resurgence these days. Basically I'm saying IT ROCKS!
  6. Sorry Escalator
    by Sorry Escalator
    featured track 00:00/00:00
    Dionysus Dionysus
Hints of Jesus and Marychain/ Lemonheads blues distorted guitar melodies entwine around a Frank Black/Dinosaur Junior vocla hook. Beautifully crafted catchy and singable choral melodies are underpinned with anthemic fuzz riff choruses, great production and song construction shine with sweeping drum rolls and splashy cymbals over the classic shoegazey indie bassline, none of which detracts from the bands originality.
  7. Gone Baby Gone
    by KiloTango
    track 00:00/00:00
The'ye got that Death Valley Girls/Cherry Glazerr Psychy-dream-pop thing going on. A surf-rock/garage swagger and. Katies vocals are lush, and, as the Mazzy Star track they cover suggests, shows the band are of a high quality. Original track Psychedelic Boy rocks as well as Gone Baby Gone. Great band.
  8. Demos
    by VIM
    favorite track 00:00/00:00
    Enigma (demo) Enigma (demo)
Stand out sounds from Melbourne based act VIM. Hooky/New Order Basslines. Iconic guitar sound and shoegaze percussion. I love how the sounds are overtly original, they are now, and at the sametime, are evocative of that classic 90's UK indie sound. Both tracks are of great quality and deserve to have (Demo) taken out of thier titltes.
  9. Night Beach
    by Shimmertraps
    featured track 00:00/00:00
    The Tortoise The Tortoise
Superb cover art that blends eastern/not eastern with a slice of psych. Its always great when a cover 'sounds' like the music 'looks'. Track titles are a journey in and of themselves and all considered makes for a fantastic album. Fresh enmotive sound with a timeless indie quality to the album, and suitably danceable too.
  10. Canned Howl EP
    by Cave Suns
    favorite track 00:00/00:00
Black North Sea Coast Black North Sea Coast
Both tracks from Cave Suns on the baying Canned Howl EP are superb. The vocalists discernable North Eastern tonality rasps perfectly along with the deep fat bluesy Bass, fizzin' splashin' rumblin' tribal percussion and astral-psych stoner-roll guitar licks. Saddle up lysergic were-pirates for the Moon cometh....
  11. The Celebrated
    by The Celebrated
    favorite track 00:00/00:00
    Sticky Kids Sticky Kids
What a fantastic EP! I love how 'Sticky Kids' stimulates the visual cortex, conjuring up vivid imagery. Shoegazin' alt-folk/rock from Salt Lake City. All of the tracks on the EP are of great quality, and a high standard of production. 'Checklist' is a beautiffuly crafted, thoughtful and capitivating song, with a catchy and singable phrasing in the 'chorus'. As with the three other tracks, the enitire EP benefits from the simplicity and cleanliness in delivery of the vocal and acoustic harmonies.
