I think this might be the hardest album Buck 65 has ever made. Not an ounce of fat on it. Every single thing about it is dope. But then every single thing about King of Drums and Super Dope is dope too. Still this might be my favourite of the bunch. I'm just happy Buck is back and making all this dope ass hip hop for us. Arrrgghh it makes me so happy.

Ok so I've listened to the album 5 times this morning and honestly I would need a long weekend away in a log cabin with someone to be able to tell them everything I love about this frigging album. In short this is one of the greatest hip hop albums I've ever heard in my life. It's a dream. Everything I love about hip hop. This late phase of Buck's career is his greatest isn't it?? Which really really is saying something. I'm gonna listen to this album about 4000 more times. Thank you Buck!!!

Dang, imagine someone passing you this cassette in the summer of '97 and you were totally unaware of what you were about to experience?? This 90 min version is a joy from start to finish. And part 4 is magnificent. The Damage, Inc sample?? These early Buck albums are my happy place.

Man, this is a fascinating listen! So different in so many ways to the album that was released(an album I love). I dig the more casual delivery, and really love the different production on Make Out song(that beat slaps), and the drastically different production on '65 Buick. And this version of Hens is the most unbuck 65 beat I've ever heard. And I love the delay at the start of attack of the nerds before buck comes in. Getting to enjoy that beat for a few seconds more.

This is the album that introduced me to Buck 20 odd years ago and it has a special place in my heart. I'd never heard anything like it. The way it works as a single piece of art. Buck creates a whole sound world. Like yer plugged directly into his brain. So it was fascinating and nostalgic to hear this OG version now. I dug the Singapore cover and all the extra stuff at the end of part 2,but man that production on the track from about 14:30 into part 2 is so dope. Thanks once again, Buck!

Can't even explain how happy this record (and King of Drums) has made me. Everything I love about hip hop. This album is a joy from start to finish, production, flow, rhymes. But man, those molasses drums and the bass line on CTFO and Bucks old school Buck delivery made me freak the f out driving to work this morning. I couldn't even believe it.

RickWhiteArchive is the gift that keeps on giving, just a treasure trove of beautiful music but this album Darkness ->Light is my favourite. A beautiful dense raw beautiful (did I mention beautiful?) blissful fever vision of an album. Headphones + maximum volume. A psychedelic dream. Plus the artwork is absolutely gorgeous. I'd love to have a vinyl copy of this gem. Thank you Rick White... once again.
