Amalgamation of several popular genres culminating in something that holds up on its own. Great track from a local SWMICH group.

Heavy, yet melodic and put on one helluva live show!

Recently saw Mississippi Bones live (Indiana), and was quite impressed by the fusion of styles. The dual vocals provide a push and pull, while the rhythm section lays down some great grooves.

To me Mississippi Bones plays "soulful-sludge grounded in stoner rock."

Looking forward to listening to the rest of the catalog.

    by No Lights
Echoes in the Dark Echoes in the Dark
This record could be interpreted as either sanguine and uplifting - or as somber and soft.

Either way, as a collection of 10 earnest songs coming together, No Lights created a beautiful album full of compositions that each have subtle touches of dreamy pop and punk intertwined.

  18. Double Hockey Sticks
    by death pose
As someone that listens to numerous genres, ‘death pose’ brings so many of my favorites into singularity.

Uptempo and in your face with grooves hailing back to rowdy Chicago shows of old, yet with all the trimmings of contemporary noise-rock/post-hardcore and punk.

Discovered at a recent local show. Pleasantly surprised to hear such great post-rock in my own backyard.

Atmospheric, dark, with shimmering edges. Looking forward to more from SPACESHIPS.

Refined just enough to stand out in a crowd yet loud enough to keep to its noise rock roots.
