This contemplative, drumless album manages to be very different from its predecessor while being unmistakably the work of the same musician. It's a subtle and somewhat cerebral collection where for me the emotions feel just out of reach (but in a very intriguing way) - I kept thinking of the Pink Floyd lyric about "quiet desperation".
Superb music, full of emotional twists and turns, that manages to have a space-y, epic feel without ever feeling overblown. Tough to choose a favourite - Metis is another sublime track, for instance
