    Baked Beans Baked Beans
The songwords go 'BAKED BEANS, BAKED BEANS, BAKED BEANS, EVERY NIGHT GIRL' and it's a weedy, whiny, skippy little thing.

If this sounds sarcastic, it's not. I could go on about the brilliantly wonky harmonics or how it would sit well in any DJ set as a palette cleanser but sometimes it's best just to take things at face value, yeah?

Composition for Sampler, Flexatone, & Vibraslap Composition for Sampler, Flexatone, & Vibraslap
All tracks are tidy, proper rinse-worthy. 'Composition for...' gets the nod because of how effortless it sounds as well as the snarky title.

    Vila Miyazaki Vila Miyazaki
This release - and 'Vila Miyazaki' the track itself - along with any of NC4K's releases is a tidy summary of the current Japanese house scene, with its bish boshing up 90s new age synths and breaks to rapturous effect.

Ah Be Rue Ah Be Rue
It starts off rather perfunctorily. Squidgy, NYC-inspired, analogue synth funk. All well and good but nothing you've not heard a million times before or done better elsewhere.

Then the overdrive kicks in in the second verse, the thing goes completely off the rails and that perfunctory 80s squidgy funk bit at the start reveals itself as absolutely vital.

Very, very clever and very, very good.

Taro's best yet? 'Banging' is a pinpoint accurate title but personally speaking if he were to ditch the whole lo-fi house thing and just do samba freakouts like 'Lucky' that would be very cool too.
