You had me at Ian Anderson'esque flute playing, some prog combined with powerful female vocals and a heavy sound. Basically the answer to the question what it would sound like if Mk. I lineup Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, UFO and some other late 60s/70s bands had a baby. The superb vocals and flute playing really make Wucan stand out.

Awesome power metal with interesting lyrics based on history.
It reminds me a lot of traditional german power metal, especially Blind Guardian, which is probably partly because of the vocalist who sounds a lot like Hansi Kürsch with a bit of Michael Kiske thrown in there.
It really stands out in all the "Play a generic riff/chord progression/solo as fast as you can, sing about a generic fantasy story and call it a day" type of power metal bands.
