    Bog Bog
This EP (and band, really) is truly experimental in that it really does things that I'm not sure have been done quite like this before. Zach and James meld their instruments together very well, and create something that hits deep on an immediate emotional level, but also feels meticulously crafted. Frantic, zany highs are balanced out by moments of total comfort and peace. The whole spectrum is well covered.
  4. Variations on Echo Lake

Variation 1: Magic Wyatt Variation 1: Magic Wyatt
What a strange little creature this is. I like it. It's intriguing, as I can't figure out where half of the sounds come from or how someone can even manage to compose music that sounds like this. I feel like I'm staring at an animal that I've never seen before, and don't fully understand, but it's interesting and kinda neat and a bit badass and I want to learn more about it.

Drowning In Sleep Drowning In Sleep
FearofDark's early work blew my mind, and this album does too. He is unrivaled. Every song on this album is very strong, loaded with fun melodies, and held down by solid grooves. This is yet another piece added to an already impressive catalog.
  9. Midsummer Days
    by Vince Kaichan
    Harvest Moon Harvest Moon
This release is really growing on me. A fine retro/chip/electro sounding EP with its own distinct sound. Great melodies throughout. I like Vince's written synopsis of what the EP is supposed to be about. Usually I find those little blurbs to be nonsensical, but in this case, I think he did an amazing job of accomplishing the intended mood.

Simply wonderful. Infectious, fun, yet introspective at the same time. There's something amazing when combining Crying's powerful music with the calm vocal delivery. Very unique.

    Worth Keeping Worth Keeping
I was initially interested in J Arthur Keenes Band from hearing "Computer Savvy". I loved how chiptune elements were being used in a more traditional "singer-songwriter" context.
This album takes it a step further, as the chiptune sounds are more like a single element of a much bigger picture. Great chord structure and melody, and every song is wonderful in its own right.

    Ice Blast Ice Blast
Amazingly infectious melodies here. Fun, dance-able tracks that have a lot more going on melodically than other stuff like it. It's hard to pick a favorite. They all make me incredibly happy.

    Autumn Autumn
This is a really intimate album that pulls you in right away. "Bedroom Folk" that deserves to be played in bedrooms everywhere.
Every song is really well constructed. Pretty much all songwriters fail to get to this level, and the ones that do take awhile to get there. Not in this case, though. Quality work, straight out of the gate.
With the right exposure, this could have been on the short list of music blogs all over the place.
