The world’s been as ugly as it ever was lately but this surprise release is a bright spot amid the gloom. I appreciate Oddisee giving us the opportunity to listen to what’s been left on the cutting room floor.

None of this feels like it’s not right or not deserving of a proper release, though. Odd Sketches don’t seem out of place in Oddisee’s discography at all. It reminds me of the instrumental albums he used to drop. He’s been the illest for years and this doesn’t fall short. Thank you.

    Being Me Being Me
This song and its accompanying video pushed me to pick up a skateboard again after two decades. I didn’t know I missed this, thank you so much.

On another note, I hadn’t followed Wu-Lu since his contribution to the »Afro Chronicles« compilation on the Touching Bass imprint – an early taste of a scene bubbling with talent – and was speechless when I heard what his music sounded like in 2021. Genre is over but more importantly, this is the musical progression of a talent to keep a close eye on.
