Jack is quite a talented songwriter. One thing that impresses me the most about his work is his ability to construct oddly beautiful chord structures and shifts. The soft, often falsetto vocal harmonies and melodies that trail along these chord patterns certainly emphasize this. If it wasn't already described as an album of b-sides, I wouldn't have been able to tell otherwise. All of these songs sound fully crafted, and they seem to work together.
