I was initially unsure how well i/o was going to hang together as an album, but finally hearing it as a whole makes much more sense. There is so much to enjoy here, though much of it is slow burning. It may not have the same commercial edge as So or Us, but it's an accessible, rich and diverse album, which also feels career-spanning, and at 73, Gabriel is in damn fine voice - he's been away for far too long and it's so good to have him back.
