I'll go ahead and say this: I think this is a step-down for Saor, but it's still a good album that I recommend.
As others have said, the riffs and payoffs are more immediate and the slow-burn is mostly eschewed. With that said, Origins does not cook for long before delivering.
However, the riffs bring another dimension to Saor's music. The focus on the guitar work is refreshing, but the title track is the biggest success as it captures Saor's essence but trims the fat.
