    Keep Awake Keep Awake
Keep Awake is a meditation on rock and roll for this new decade. The dragging grunge and shoegaze elements clash with the metal elements in the same songs, but it all makes sense in the dark breakdowns and solos: hard post-rock feels more sincere these days as a somber lament than a hopeful speedy thrash. The understated vocals add necessary tone and drive, as both chants and screams. The guitar work is great as rhythm and droning equals the solos in driving and bringing meaning to the tracks.

A story on its own, Modern Postage Stamp Album takes you on a ride through the countryside to vacation, work, a holiday visit, a cabin or two, and right back into your comfy chair. Tasteful layers of bells amidst the trickling tremolo of the guitar give the ride interesting forms that you can investigate or simply notice as you go by. The Dawn is a lovely piece that slowly forms into itself, as the album realizes what it has to do. A great project from the intro to the closer.

A big win for midwest music (and pnw) and for very modern old timey music. These two are very thoughtful and honorable in learning from folk music of yesteryear before approaching storytelling from their perspective today. Absolutely lovely.
  13. Bronze Age of the Nineties
    by Liance
Always creating. Always giving life. Liance is pushing great music out to people across genre and political lines. The storytelling is mythic in it's simplicity.
Favorite track: that was the best near death experience ever!
