This is an astonishing album! Brilliantly balanced in technicality, restrained song-writing, and innovative instrumentation, this album defies any kind of genre classification. It's infectiously catchy and indescribably gorgeous, while still indulging in heavier grooves and prog chord progressions. Imagine The Police recruited Steve Vai and started writing cool metal musicscapes and condensed them into a batch of 3 minute songs. In short, I love this album; Immensely.

Simultaneously erratic and astutely organized, this album explores the beauty in brutality to a degree that is often attempted but never achieved. It's easy to be astonished by the range of this two-piece band, especially when you realize the incredible production value. This album sounds better than most mainstream releases. But after you push past the mixing, you'll notice the true complexity of the arrangements and song composition. Most bands aspire to do what these guys have done with ease.
