  1. Devour The Sun
    by vvilderness
    Sól Sól
Devour the Sun is such a special album. It is aggressive at times and is counterbalanced by more relaxed, natural vibes that make its listening refreshing.
  2. Dark Waters
    by vvilderness
    Dark Waters Dark Waters
Contrasting Devour the Sun's more aggressive tones, Dark Waters represents much of what its name implies: cooler, darker sounds and atmospheres. The title track's vocal dichotomy is a powerful statement.
  3. The Last Rain

Between Hope and Reality Between Hope and Reality
Such a surprise! I was referred this album by a friend and I was taken back by the complexity of the compositions. Between Hope and Reality is not only a track name, but also a description of the tones on the album. This balance really supports the juxtaposition of cleanliness and harshness of the compositions.
  4. Into the Blue
    by Abstract Void
An Euphoric Dream An Euphoric Dream
Abstract Void do something very special: artfully and deftly blending two seemingly counter-intuitive genre's sounds into an amazing dreamscape of aural pleasure.
  5. Back to Reality
    by Abstract Void
Side A: Wind of Reminiscence / I Watch the Sunset Fade / Back to Reality / Disconnected Side A: Wind of Reminiscence / I Watch the Sunset Fade / Back to Reality / Disconnected
Following up on the musical experiment that is Into the Blue, AV refine their approach again into the fascinating foray of blackgaze and synthwave. I love the dichotomy of the two styles being artfully blended, leaving no one style to be dominant or overbearing. Always a great listen.
  6. Takk og farvel; tida er blitt ei annen
    by MYRKGRAV
Om å danse bekhette (10th anniversary edition) Om å danse bekhette (10th anniversary edition)
What a way to leave a mark on the landscape of extreme music! I do not think anything else would have done justice for Myrkgrav or his debut album Trollskau, skromt og kolabrenning. This is a near perfect balance of the heaviness and impact of extreme music and the wistfulness and world-building that traditional folk music is able to do. The re-recordings put older tracks in a different light, again allowing the listener to delight in their story, bathed in the atmosphere of times long past.
