  1. Lapse
    by Kaarlo Herden
  2. Wire-Brain Children
    by Major Mistake
Best Mistake since Expurse of Audiobscenity, and the best the band's ever done (along with that record)!

It's the usual mix of diversified influences, but Xysma probably stands out a lil' bit more this time. Also Carcass? The crust is still strong and smelly too!

Sound is great and matches the songwriting perfectly! It's one of the few current HM-2 bands that doesn't bore you, despite that sound being so abused. It's done right!

The performance is really energetic. Great, clever lyrics!
  3. Isolation EP
    by Mauser
Savage noisy d-beat straight from the depths of the concrete hell we live in!

The drummer is the drummer that every d-beat band in the world wish they had: a total d-beat machine, punishing and intense as very few others!

Still, the guitar riffs and sound are very good anyway. Played with taste and they set a different vibe that sets them apart from Framtid (their obvious influence).

Upon first listen, this brief EP will surely have an impact on you, blowing you away (quite literally)!
  4. Larvae
    by LaColpa
LaColpa put the sludge aside to create an improvised trance-inducing trip to be looped for seven days straight with no break. All the while paying homage to none other than Coil!

It's probably best experienced in altered states of consciousness... but it's also a track that definitely grows on you.

  5. The Great Reset
    by 偏執症者 (Paranoid)
Last single of the red 'n' black series and I personally think it's the best one! They're all great in their own way, but this one is just rifftastic! It may not be the most intense, but it takes the d-beat rock 'n' roll style of the last one and makes it even better!

I can't choose a favourite song because they're both so fucking good!
  6. Possessed
    by 偏執症者 (Paranoid)
These two trax keep exploring the crust 'n' roll route taken with False Control (from the previous single), yet still keep it thrashy after all.

I can also hear a bit of Sabbath in the mid section of Deserted Centuries... can't complain!

  7. Vanished Resilience
    by 偏執症者 (Paranoid)
The japanese-influenced sound of the drums and bass, along with the energy they're played with, gives the pseudo-thrash vibe a breath of fresh air.

Sure, it's not AS japanese as you could expect from Paranoid, but the drums still feel like japanese hardcore (and that's rare outside of Japan).

The guitar sound is a lot cleaner than that of japanese crust/d-beat, but it's just as full, satisfying and vicious as the rest. Overall, a good pair of songs with a great sound!
  8. Kill the Light
    by 偏執症者 (Paranoid)
Dead Barren Wastes Dead Barren Wastes
The first of four singles of total metalpunk madness!

It's great how they keep changing sound and influences to fit the riffs that come out of them, while always staying true to the formula.

They almost sound like a thrash band here, but a really good one I'd say! And thrash is one of the most stale and boring genres around today... then you have Paranoid making it sound interesting again.

2nd track got a d-beat loop followed by black metal grimness, then backs to thrashing... what a ride!
  9. Demons Inside Us - 20 Years Of Phobia Records, V/a
    by 偏執症者 (Paranoid)
This song makes you want to completely thrash and destroy the room you're in. It's impossible to stay put with this on!

I want to generate as much disorder in my room as there is in that noise-ridden japanese-inspired guitar tone! And the urgency of those fucking riffs!
Oh man...! D-beat for all eternity!
  10. S.C.U.M.
    by 偏執症者 (Paranoid)
One of the better EPs by Paranoid... for my taste, at least!

I'm not too fond of the most well-known early records that some friends seem to swear by, but this one is closer in feel and sound to Punkdemonium Hell, which I really like!

It's a bit more refined in structure and sound without taking away from the essential rawness!

It's odd: most punk bands seem to lose their edge and attitude as the years go by, but Paranoid used that experience to perfect their formula. Aged like fine wine!
  11. Punkdemonium Hell
    by 偏執症者 (Paranoid)
In my wishlist for a while... took some time to buy it because of the fixed price and limited listens, but whatever.

It's a great EP and I have fond memories of seeing Paranoid live opening for Zyanose. They even played Disclose's Conquest and I screamed the hell out of it with them in the chorus!

See them live! Flagbearers of proper d-beat raw punk!
  12. s/t
    by Dishönor
I had this record in my wishlist for ages (probably since it came out) and I never listened to it, as with most of the stuff that ends in my wishlist.

Then at some point I had a chance to see them live and finally listened to it for some time before the gig.

I thought the band was a bit cold. Still, the riffs are there and the sound too. And it was a nice show anyway!

I'm curious to see where this band is heading! Support them!
  13. Songs about Wrongs
    by Kläpträp
  14. Negative Mangel Attitude
    by Systemik Viølence
About time they made an album like this! Finally something that truly captures their attitude and energy. This is what punk should be!

It's basically metalpunk of the finest kind: not the usual ''thrash but less technical'', which is okay but can get boring very quickly. Instead, a mix of swedish and japanese hardcore, d-beats, both metal and punk riffing, all brought together by a black metal energy.
    And it's very diverse!

N.M.A. doesn't bore you one bit... it just kicks you in the face!
  15. Life / Fatum - "Everyone Crosses The Border / End Time" Split
    by Acclaim Collective
GREAT split on both sides from two titans of contemporary crust.

Even Life is often verging on stenchcore lately, yet always with that unmistakable japanese sound of theirs.

Every song is a riff fest and the sound production and mixing is just as perfect!

Apocalyptic crust indeed: it's not just riffs but a hectic atmosphere as well.

You can't really go wrong with these two!
  16. Cropcircle - Live at Festivalbara (AL) 05-11-2005
    by Undermeat Distro
Immersive and hypnotic, sometimes it's all you need.

It's good noise/ambient/industrial with some more musical (while still experimental) bits here and there.

It was Cropcircle's first live show and it turned out to be an amazing recording too!
  17. Mikä ei tapa, se ahdistaa
    by Hedkleaner
  18. One Year War
    by COLONY·DROP
  19. A voz do Mal
    by Maldição
Metalpunk in the most straightforward meaning of the term! Both writing and sound are very reminescent of the era (and bands) they mention as influence.

The riffs are just plain nasty! Plus, it's all energetic as fuck and MPDS Anti Nazi sounds like an anthem!

    Good shit!
  20. 3 Trax of Split w/AVGRUND(Remastered 2018)
    by DISPROVE
I've had their 7'' for some time now but I had never heard the split tracks before.

It's just as good as the self-titled, and that is: fucking awesome!
Chunky sound with riffs that are basically bastardized and crusted-up Discharge! Plus, I always love dual vocals in this kind of bands!

    Very good stuff!
