Umar Rashid is a seasoned producer and DJ residing in Detroit. With more than 20 yrs of DJing under his belt, he sharpened his skills in NYC before moving to the D. Co-founder of Rashid Tea & Records, an independent label in its infancy, Umar pulls from a love of jazz, hip-hop & house music. His deliberate sets are a certified buffet of deep cuts and moody instrumentals.
