  1. U advarotny šliach (Return Journey)
    by Stary Olsa
This is one of my favorites songs off the Water, Hops, and Malt album. A beautiful piece of work that tugs at your heart. The instruments are soft, lilting, & precise as the melody carries you away. It's the kind of song you can listen to over & over again...which I have done. Ales does an excellent job on the vocals. You can feel the emotion & the longing that the character in the song is experiencing. A great song for when you are sitting by the fire with friends & a beer.
  2. Šturm zamka Pulien. Single 2020
    by Stary Olsa
This single is another example of the enormous talent & skill of Stary Olsa. Their music never fails to get my heart pumping & my hands clapping. Their devotion to their craft is an honor to the history of their country & a joy for their fans. Long Live Belarus!
  3. Kielich Kola (Drinking Mug), 2000
    by Stary Olsa
Što j pa moru (Belarusian folk song) Što j pa moru (Belarusian folk song)
This is their first album in a long line of great albums. They still play songs from this one in concert & on YouTube performances to this day. It's a shame I only get to pick one favorite track for this review.
  4. Skarby Litvinaŭ Siaredniaviečča (Litvin's Treasures, Middle Ages). 2004
    by Stary Olsa
    Litvin Litvin
Litvin has so many treasures for the medieval music lover that Stary Olsa had to make 2 albums just to share some of them with us. This album focuses on the Middle Ages. From powerful drum and bagpipe tunes to peaceful rhythms and flutes to soothe your soul. This album will take you back in time. Some songs have been released on later albums after the band has arranged them differently and given them a new sound and a new vibe. They are historians as well as skilled and talented musicians.
  5. Lipka. 2019
    by Stary Olsa
    Lipka Lipka
This album delivers SO much in just two songs. "Lipka" is an emotional and hypnotic tune that tells a tragic love story. It makes you want to cry and sing at the same time. I had never listened to the Cranberries' version of "Zombie" until AFTER I heard Stary Olsa’s version. And, I like this version better (Sorry, Cranberries.) These songs are great examples of how much energy the group can create together. Each member provides a necessary element to the song that makes it incredible and unique.
  6. Skarby Litvinaŭ Reniesans (Litvin's Treasures, Renaissance). 2004
    by Stary Olsa
    Saltarello XV−XVII с Saltarello XV−XVII с
Litvin has so many treasures for the medieval music lover that Stary Olsa had to make 2 albums just to share some of them with us. This album focuses on the Renaissance period. Like the Middle Ages album, it has anthems, marches, ballads, dances, and chamber music. Some songs have been released on later albums after the band has arranged them differently and given them a new sound. This album features "Kuranta”. It was used on The History Channel’s original series “Vikings” in Season 6.
