I was afraid Wintherr had finally sold out when I saw how short the tracks are. How, I asked, does one pack an epic journey through cold and darkness into 5-6 minutes? Actually hearing this album assuaged my fears. This is not music for wandering, but for dances around ritual bonfires and masked processions through the streets. Different in structure from Paysage d'Hiver's usual work, but not in feeling or spirit. It's just as frigid and subtle as one could hope, just more energetic.
