None of the Crayon Rubbings albums fit neatly into a category, which is one of the reasons I really enjoy them. I think this EP is particularly exploring beyond a "safe" sound - a strange mix of rock and jazz - sometimes gorgeous, sometimes frenetic piano and the warbling growl of Laurel Garber truly make a couple of these tracks hard to ignore.
