This is hardly the first conceptual conceptual hip-hop album, but it might be the best. If Deltron 3030 was symphonic this is orchestral. On first listen it might seem to be dark and gloomy, but a single listen only rewards the lazy. Take each song as a movement and the album as the resulting harmonization. There is a beauty in the lack of profane lyrics because Onry has mostly taken the bitterness and resentment that accompanies profanity out.
    Overall a majestic accomplishment.

First off shout out to Factor Chandelier because these are dope beats. Producers (and DJs) never get the credit they deserve as the "backbone of hip-hop". But this is about the lyrics and they are fucking sick. Sometimes a bit twisted. Fantastic. American Expre$$ in particular is a standout. It's an Econ 101 lesson to Corporate America. Or maybe a statement that simply says "your greed dug your own graves and here's what I think about you". Well said indeed.

Smart and edgy. Songs spoken with an active and compassionate consciousness. Shades of early Pavement (you know....if they rapped). Layered beats and twisting metaphors. Absolutely fantastic. Ecid has a voice worth hearing.

Atmospheric as hell. Reminds me Emma Luise splashed with a dash of Janet Jackson. And what a voice. Hypnotic - thus the Emma Luise Comparison. Really enjoyed it.

This is a really good bit of pop music. There's a lot of ambition here and I love that. There's also a lot more that could be gotten out of it too. I think the cliche is "looking for one's voice" or something and I can't wait to hear more. Sonically it's beautiful but maybe some parts still seem a little too borrowed? Lovely introduction though, keep it coming!

A great teacher. Someone who's art has genuinely taught me new information and given me new ideas. Original to the core.
