Fruitful (Maliyah's Theme) Fruitful (Maliyah's Theme)
This was a very spontaneous purchase. I liked the general vibe of the tracks, and it's in the style of Ta-ku and more, which I like a lot, so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm not a fan of slack hip-hop vocals over detailed trap, or any electronic music of this type... Just sounds so "wangsta". But besides that there was a lot of tracks like that, I can't complain!

    Trying Trying
THE album to give you flashbacks to the 80's and 90's! Especially the track "Trying", which is one of my top 5 favorite tracks of 2013. I imagine a Coca Cola commercial, vintage resolution video snippets following the beat. Sunsets, teens breakdancing in the street, business colleagues giving high five, funky dawgs driving Cadillacs, kids playing basketball, the sun is shining, everyone's got a coke, living the good life. It's the synth, the vocal, and definitely the beat! This album is art! ☼♥☺

    SIGNAL SIGNAL
I don't hear albums as mystical and soulful as this too often. It's got a haunted, suffering and emotional setting, with a story and a good dramaturgy. I love the amateur improvisation here and there, because it turns out so well. This album is of the dark ambient type. Not recommended if you're in a bad mood!
  24. Y Y Y
    by Rabbit Rabbit
    00:00/00:00
This reeks of computer overdrive! The last anger of a internally melting hard drives and shutting down OSs. Mechanical and pitched.
  25. November
    by Rabbit Rabbit
    00:00/00:00
This track seems to always put me in a trance. It makes me think back, reflect and feel so small. It's very abstract and calming. Overall a very well produced track.

    Chant Chant
Magical collection of garage grunge-ish synth-indie-pop! It's familiar, but I've never heard anything just like it before. Good balance between mellow and out of boundary. These tracks also expresses that the quality of elements over quantity isn't the most important, but how you imbue them.

Lovely sampling and chopping is always a classic, and especially for summer vibes in my opinion. Played on a boombox of course. This EP is perfect as background music.
  29. You Look Different
    by Luminaire
    00:00/00:00
    4:38am 4:38am
This new path Luminaire has taken with this album seems more timeless. The sound is distanced but yet urban. The whole sound specter is deserted, rusty beats, sounding cold, but that's what sets the mood to it. Disco is over, time to chill out.
  30. Up to the Galaxy (feat.Sophie Pearce)
    by BMB SpaceKid
    00:00/00:00
Has a good galaxy-like sound. Fits the title. Very good vocals and otherwise good track.

    by L'Étranger
    00:00/00:00
    (Dance) Darling (Dance) Darling
Twisting house with wrapped up vocal samples. L'Étranger is the superhero of modern french-touch! Makes me wanna jump!

    Morning Sun Morning Sun
Outstanding album! Crisp, funky, emotional... It's the absolute full package of hip-hip influenced beats. One of my top favorite albums of 2012! For situational feel, this is a must-buy!

Time To See Time To See
Chillout, hip-hop instrumental, whatever. This is what I'll remember as the sound of my early 20's later on. It's that good.
  34. For What It's Worth
    by Vanilla
    00:00/00:00
    Rashida Rashida
Better production value, but less authenticity. This still sounds good though! The Vanilla sound is so retrospective. It's got fresh style, blended with fractions of the old days. That's why it feels so meaningful, and links easily to memories. Today I can listen to Vanilla and feel older than yesterday.
  35. Venetian Fox (Knight One Remix)
    by Cream Child
    00:00/00:00
Makes me think of milkshake and sunfilled weekends. Great sense of carelessness and halfsleepy days with friends.
