Grooves like Death and Watchtower, tech without pretention or plastic production. Rips its way right out of the early progressive death metal sound without ever losing sight of hooks and melody
I saw these guys play a very impressive set at a local record store. The melancholic sound and wistful lyrics meant a lot to me when I heard them; needless to say, I felt compelled to throw these touring dudes several dollars to put em a little bit further along down the road.
Vicious death/thrash from Ohio. Reaper's vocals are top notch and the riffs are razor sharp as always. Featuring an excellent cover of a Desultory classic.
An overlooked gem in the early Amon Amarth catalog. Epic songwriting in places, stories to tell, and the last remnant of this style before they switched to the more groovy mid tempo melodeath
I first heard Fullmoon Sorcery on Hellcast. The vocalist is simply one of a kind; the raspy growl and the screech are what give them undeniable recognition as a band. The old school black/thrash sound helps too!
I'd like to thank Dark Descent for the nice remaster and package. A classic pair of demos from one of the greatest American death metal acts to stagnate in obscurity.
One of the most ambitious works of early melodic death metal. Brilliant multifaceted pieces, loaded with melody and harmony. Probably the pinnacle of their career.
