this album rekindled my belief in

turn the volume way up and push play
beginning to end a mosh pit rager
chipped nail polish and bruised elbows
so much energy and carefully crafted song structure

what a great singer yes, but the whole group is such a good fit for her

you're seeing a super star rock band in the making

Bridgetown Records, aside from the beautiful jewel cases and j-card artwork/ layout, has always been about exceptional music, and Reignbeau is no exception.
On this album, dreamy and reverb heavy, we hear a voice that you might imagine to be in your own head, soft, velveteen, soothing. Put this tape in the boom box or through your favorite headphones and simply melt into your pillows and ponder the infinite.

1st track builds slowly on a ghostly unpleasant soundscape , and you can feel the dread hiding to strike any second,, any second,,

the terror lands and you are not prepared

what have you done ?

paralyzed by unadulterated panic , you can do nothing but let it wash over you , cover you, drowning in pure evil

you sink even deeper under a palpable ocean of suffering, surrounded by tortured demonic wails , and then -

oh, back to the unspeakable terror you were lulled into forgetting about

Extremely ambient, texturally mellow "beats" paired with basically spoken lyrics, touches of reverb and delay here and there, possibly found sounds and field recordings interspersed with the almost whispered vocals. The lyrics are the highlight here, which are immensely honest and vulnerable, intimate and introspective spoken word poetry over washed out and melancholy soundscapes of subdued keyboards, white noise and almost no percussion, very long vocal pauses. albert b. is a heartfelt emotional wordsmith who is telling his story in a unique way, and telling it like it is from a young perspective.
And of course I respect the cassette release.
I doubt we've heard the last from albert b.
