Scott had his sound together and was a mature, distinctive artistic voice when I first encountered him some 35 years ago, and he's still got it together today. I love the purity of his music, the Jim Hall/Paul Desmond-like dedication to the melodic line, even when he's playing very modern material. There are certain mindless and flashly things you can do on guitar to impress people who don't know much about music. Scott never does those things.

If you collect rare Bacharach, you are almost certainly going to get your money's worth from this collection. Be aware that's it is a bit disorganized. When I bought it (June 2023), there were 146 tracks included. 12 were exact duplicates of other tracks, in a couple of cases with wrong artists listed. At least 19 were the same masters used on other rarities comps; 6 were not written by Bacharach; 33 were poor fidelity common tracks--still, I got 68 winners out of this collection-a good deal!

This is much like the music of John Cage, except that you want to listen to it again. Empty your mind and be at one with My Dick.
