My favorite album of all time. The way they play clashing organic and electronic sounds simultaneously is so unique. Truly a gem hidden by all the generic crescendo-y post-rock acts of the 2000's.
There's this emotional distance with Burial's music that is truly honed in on in Untrue. Like a desperate cry for help that is drowned out and destroyed by the cacophony of a grey, lifeless cityscape.
New Energy takes the adventurous folktronica of Pause/Rounds and boils it down until there is nothing but minimalist, looping, yet mesmerizing soundscapes. One of the best releases in the modern Four Tet discography.
