  9. Pointe Sèche
by Annette Krebs / Jean-Luc Guionnet
I kept wondering if the noise I heard was part of the composition or valves malfunction in my phone amp. Noise, scraping the percussive-like instruments, this is contemporary composition at a very high level. Variety of instruments, the "nano-tonality" and squeezing every bit of the timbre and then computer-assisted extension of it, make this a perfect electro-acoustic journey for those looking for sound in music, and not the harmony or the virtuoso performance. The third one is my favourite.
  10. An Alphabet Of Fluctuation
by Gerard Lebik / Burkhard Beins
    II II
Simply the best kind of, my favourite, blend of heavy cymbal timbre overlapping with electronically synthesised sine waves, that create textures that are soothing for my soul, but not everyone will find it such an easy listening. Most will probably find it anxiogenic, due to, in my experience, a cultural bias, created by similar sounds overused for tense parts in movies that might prevent some from enjoying the sound qualities at display. The bestcontinuation of Parmegiani's De Natura Sonorum.

  14. The Harpweaver
    by Maeve Gilchrist
    Brenda's Abbey Brenda's Abbey
Harpweaver indeed, masterfully played, especially liked Brenda's Abbey and every texture like part on the album, as I like to employ sampled harp VSTi-s for creating chaotic texturescapes. But Maeve's music is very uplifting and anxiolythic with a celtic twist, unlike my own music which is therapeutic for me, but can be anxiogenic to other's. Added string instruments complement perfectly the master of Celtic Harp composition and the player in one person.

    Warmly recommended.
