  14. Gloom
by Jeroen van Vliet - Afra Mussawisade - Kinan Azmeh
Don't let the title fool you, it is not the least bit gloomy. It is a well crafted set of jazz compositions that often draw on various ethnic traditions, and are impeccably played. The musicians make no attempt to become the "new thing",as such, but only to present us with good music. In this they succeed admirably. I am very pleased to have added this to my collection.
  15. ménage à trois
    by Acid Jazz Trio
I first came across the TERM Acid Jazz back in '91; as Scotti Bros. records released 3 compilations using the term. A sort of proto hip-hop using jazz phrasings, it had more pop/rock/R&B to it than jazz. Here the trio goes at it coming from the Jazz side. They do a good job. It's a lot of fun
  16. Teardrop

Stoner jazzists doing hip-hop/pop tunes. I'm in. :-)
Ah yes; found in Chromedigi's collection.
  17. Resolve
    by Poppy Ackroyd
Mellow intensity at its finest, this is a lovely collection of neo-classic compositions.Vibrant and varied textures provide a delicate layering to the pieces. Thanks go to Roy for informing me of this superb young artist.
  18. Pause

    Very mellow, and very nice.
  19. Solo 7"s Vol.1
    by Yazz Ahmed
Ms. Ahmed keeps getting better with each offering. Oddly (or then again, maybe not that oddly at all) I get a strong Miles vibe from this. Think Saeta, from Sketches of Spain; just as a vibe, mind you, as her voice is her own.
